Getting started
Do I need a website to use BookMi?
No. We give you a shareable booking link you can use anywhere - Instagram bio, WhatsApp status, email signature, etc.
How long does setup take?
Most salons are live within an hour. Adding services, staff and availability is straightforward from the dashboard.
Is there a free trial?
Yes - 14 days free, no credit card required. You can explore all features on the Pro tier during your trial.
Billing
What is a booking cap?
Your bill is: base fee + (R per booking x confirmed bookings), but never more than the cap. If you have 300 bookings but the maths would exceed the cap, you only pay the cap.
Do cancelled bookings count?
No. Only confirmed appointments count toward your per-booking charge.
What payment methods are accepted?
We use PayFast: Visa, Mastercard, Instant EFT and more are supported.
WhatsApp (Pro)
How many WhatsApp messages are included per booking?
Up to 3: confirmation, reminder, and one change notification. Additional messages cost R0.35 each.
Can I customise the WhatsApp message text?
You can set your business name, service and reminder timing. Full template customisation is on the roadmap.
WordPress plugin
Is the WordPress plugin free?
Yes. The plugin itself is free. You need an active BookMi account (free trial counts) to connect it.
Which WordPress versions are supported?
WordPress 6.0 and above with PHP 8.1 or higher.
Privacy & POPIA
Where is my data stored?
All data is stored on servers in South Africa, complying with POPIA requirements.
Can clients request their data be deleted?
Yes. You can delete a client profile from the dashboard at any time, and clients can request deletion via your booking page.
